FAQs
Q.Why Combi boilers?

A. The benefits of combi boilers include heating only the water you use on the domestic side; they supply constant hot water; are a sealed system for faster heat up time; They do not need a cylinder or a loft tank and are easier, than conventional systems, to install.

However they can not supply hot water if the boiler fails and have a slower hot water flow rate than coventional systems. Combi boilers are also more expensive to repair than convential systems.

Q.Why conventional systems? (with cylinder and tank)

A. Coventional systems can provide hot water even if the boiler fails, by using an immersion heater and are also able to feed more than one hot water tap, due to the volume of water stored in the cylinder. Coventional boilers are also more simple, so have less problems associated with them.

Coventional systems are, however, more expensive to install and do take up more room.
Q. Why condensing boilers?

A. All boilers now need to be condensing boilers as per Part L of building regulations; these are more efficient and therefore cheaper to run. Both combination and conventional boilers are both condensing.
